Resolved Question: What do you think of this Design Project for Computer Engineering?

I am planning to propose a project about seatbelt implementation using RFID and microcontrollers. The system will detect if the driver or passengers are wearing seatbelt and if not then the vehicle will not move(which I am still thinking of ways to cease a car from moving). What do you think of this? Any suggestions or comments please. And can you provide me a good title for this project?

Resolved Question: If you had to have an RFID chip implanted.....?

... in order to buy good, look the doctor, or even have a job, what are you prepared to do? (Placed in R & S because the RFID is associated with the Mark of the Beast from the Christian bible) I personally would not have the chip, and would have to take up surviving on my possess. RFID chips are starting to be used more and more. Some people even have them implanted into their hand to ensure safety. Here is a commercial showing someone using RFID to store (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eob532iEpqk). The bible warns us about the mark of the beast and in the King James version it actually says "in" instead of "on". So do you think this is quite possibly the mark of the beast. If not don't you think the mark could be very similar and just as easy to carry out?

I know toll road passes work with rfid signals, and when your car passes by the rfid transmitter, your account is charged. Is there any sort of technology, perhaps a transmitter, that would ring your phone, or charge your account if you came within a certain distance of it? Thanks

Voting Question: What do you think of Child Protective Services? here is my take?

I for one oppose any form of social control . From the Patriot Act, AR210-35, RFID CHip, or the REAL ID . I firmly believe Social Services does more hurt than good. The Goverment should not be involved with raising our possess family, religion, abortion(whether for or against) or deny us our Constitutional rights. Many people will say but CPS has saved thousands of families. Really? For every family they keep they have destroyed almost 4 families. Thats a 4-1 ratio. If you cannot protect yours kids that is YOUR problem. Lets take for examplean issue. #1 An abusive husband is beating his wife. Kids are gift. You live in a state lets say Kentucky or Washington State. You call Social Services(which i dont know why you would not call the police instead) and tell tem your situation. They will pretty much violate every right you have in the sake of the "interest of the child". Even if their is no evidance they act as if they are the law themselves often without proof.So if CPS wont help what do you do ? Well Help your self. Go buy a flame arm and defend yourself. or if a flame arm is too extreme try a Stun "gun" something that will help you defend against anyone. In this case I would have moved immediatly but most people cannot as their husbands are the main source of income. #2 issue Lets say CPS receive a anonymouse phone cal that you are smoking pott in the home with kids. First et me say that phone call is not evidance or could be used as evidance as it is anonymous. Secondly if CPS forces anyone to take a drug test that will violate 4th ,5th,6th, and the 14th amendment. They cannot tell you to do anything without your permission. They are not police they have no legal authority unless they have a valid Search Warrant which you need to look first before you let them inside your home. I for one wont let CPS into my home for ANYTHING. They are a corrupt socialist system.I have never relied on CPS or the police not once. Why because I am very well informed and have years in the military. And even if CPS has a legal right which i dont look how they would, I would have hird a lawyer to be gift but if they cant be i woult taperecord everything CPS says, and have them stay outside. And even if someone was smoking marijiuana so what . Weed has been known to be "healthier"than cigerettes and should be taxed and regulated like any difficult drug, Tax, Regulate,Age Restrictions render most illegal drug trade out of business So for those that say CPS is here for you . Guess again they hate the idea you have control of your family so they want social control . Quite the Maxist Idea i know. In Fighting for your rights against goverment officials. #1 Know Constitutional Rights #2 Do not incriminate yourself ;nswer only basic info like your name and social number thats it. #3- Tape record everything if you do talk #4- Do not submit for a drug test(that violates 4 const. rights) If you have issues with CPS shoot me a line or just trouble with the goverment . I served 5 yrs with the goverment i know what they can do and what they are doing. Not to mention i am a student in political Science. Well while i stated my opinion . Resolved Question: Can duct tape alone block RFID signals?

I have an RFID card that I use to unlock the front door of my apartment. The RFID still works last time I tried it, but the card was in rough shape. Since I have a spare I decided to look if I could move the RFID into something else so I wouldn't have to carry such a big card on my key chain. I peeled off the sticky half of the card and gently pulled the RFID chip and antennae off of the plastic card. I then laid it in the same shape (without breaking the wires) on the sticky side of a piece of duct tape. I then wrapped it in a few layers of tape. It's nice of nice, it's a lot smaller than before and now it's a little flexible, though I'm going to do something to make it less flexible. If you have experience with RFIDs can you let me know if there are any problems with my design? Do you think bending the copper wires will be a problem if they don't break completely? Could some chemicals in the adhesive cause a problem like corrosion?

Resolved Question: RFID vehicle ID sticker for entrance through a front gate ?

Do RFID stickers designed for vehicles have to be actually stuck to the windshield ? If it does can I stick it to another piece of glass and just hold that up as I steer through ? BACKGROUND: The place where I live just issued me with a sticker made my Sirit (www.sirit.com) that I stick to my car's windshield and it allows entry through the front gate. If I change my car I have to mail them a check for a replacement. I change my car frequently and also sometimes have rentals for periods of time. So I am looking for a way to avoid having to keep replacing the RFID tag.

Resolved Question: Car sharing for suburbanites?

I've noticed that many car sharing organizations keep their cars in central dense urban locations that are usually already well served by public transit. I was wondering if there would be a market for a CSO that served suburbanites perhaps by keeping the cars at the peripheral stations of the LRT, using the LRT to shuttle drivers to move cars from depot to depot and perhaps a van of drivers to offer a drop off and pick up service at a premium fee. Obviously heavy use of GPS and RFID would be needed to ensure proper scheduling. Granted there wouldn't be the population density of urban centers but the feeder bus systems should make the cars relatively convenient and these are people likely to use the car share frequently yet use public transit for a daily commute given the presence of the LRT's and you're leveraging the LRT for your staff.
